From the crumbling fire traps of the Subura to the less dangerous examples around the cattle market, the insulae were Rome's apartments and high-rise complexes. With some example standing in excess of five storeys and boasting taverns, bakers and less salubrious places to spend a denarius, the insulae were Rome's answer to affordable housing. This version of our Lower Rank Insula Corner kit has a flat roof to allow your skirmish games to be fought on the rooftops. The recessed roof also provide an excellent place to roll your dice without fear of knocking over or disturbing any miniatures at ground level.
