The invention of the Chuck Wagon is attributed to Texas Ranger Charles Goodnight in 1866. Using an army surplus wagon, Goodnight added a 'Chuck Box' with drawers and shelves for storage space and a hinged lid to provide a flat cooking surface. The resulting wagon was used extensively by cattle drivers and pioneers travelling to and from the frontier. Supplied unassembled and unpainted in kit form with full instructions. Any models or accessories shown are for scale purposes only and are not included. |
