The Pantheon, Rome. One of the best-preserved of all Ancient Roman buildings, the Pantheon has been in continuous use throughout its history.
In the aftermath of the Battle of Actium (31 BC), Marcus Agrippa started an impressive building program: the Pantheon was a part of the complex created by him on his own property in the Campus Martius in 29–19 BC.
Although burnt down in 80 AD and again in 110AD it was rebuilt and then repaired several more times to become the great building we see today in the Piazza della Rotonda
The Pantheon's large circular domed cella, with a conventional temple portico front, was unique in Roman architecture and weighs in at a massive four & half thousand tonnes!. A style that has been copied many times by later architects and now you can add one to your Roman wargaming table with this detailed MDF kit!
Supplied unassembled and unpainted in kit form with full instructions. Any models or accessories shown are for scale purposes only and are not included. |
