Rorke's Drift Store (15mm)
SHIPPING & DISCOUNT CODES CALCULATED DURING CHECKOUT
Immortalised in cinema and military history, the mission at Roarke's Drift became the focal point of a battle between just over 150 British and colonial soldiers and thousands of Zulu warriors. The engagement was fought on 22 January, 1879, as part of the Anglo-Zulu War and immediately followed the British defeat at Isandlwana. This time, however, the British secured a famous victory. The store was adjacent to the perimeter but sat just outside of it. The distance between the storehouse and the hospital was roughly 35 yards. Where the hospital contained 11 rooms, the store was made up of about a half dozen. Both structures had loopholes for rifles and thatched roofs. Throughout the battle, the garrison fought hard to retain its grip on the store compound. The perimeter of what became the last line of defence consisted of the portion protected by the retrenchment, part of the north wall, the outside walls of the cattle kraal, and this store. Supplied unassembled and unpainted in kit form with full instructions. Any models or accessories (including thatch and Terrain Tile base) shown are for scale purposes only and are not included. |
