Joe Logan Brings Ravenweald to Life for Lords & Legends

It’s always great to see where our kits end up, and this time they’ve found their way into Ravenweald, part of the world being created for Death Reaper Games’ upcoming fantasy skirmish game, Lords & Legends: The Voidshadow Requiem. The new studio from Duncan Rhodes and Roger Yates is building a game packed with character, narrative and adventure — and Joe Logan has been using our Dark Ages MDF buildings to help bring a little corner of that world to the tabletop.

I’ve been busy creating a new little corner of Ravenweald for the Lords and Legends game from Death Reaper Games; the rustic farmstead using the Dark Ages MDF buildings from Sarrissa Precision was the perfect place to start.

Using strips of balsa wood, teddy bear fur and the MDF base buildings as a starting point, the buildings slowly began to come to life. Once the basic shapes were in place, I used a selection of sponge effects to build up the paint layers, adding texture and colour to create a convincing wattle-and-daub finish.

The result is a suitably weathered little farmstead that feels right at home in the lush and green lands of Ravenweald and a great selection of terrain ready for the tabletop with an instant story and narrative!

We love seeing our kits used like this, and Joe’s additions have given the farmstead exactly the sort of lived-in character you’d expect from a setting built around storytelling and adventure.

Ravenweald is just one of the regions players will encounter in Lords & Legends, and if these photos have caught your attention, there’s plenty more of the world, warbands and characters to discover.

Head over to Death Reaper Games to discover more about Lords & Legends: The Voidshadow Requiem, and make sure you sign up to their mailing list to keep up with the latest news, reveals and updates as the game gets closer to launch.

And if Joe’s farmstead has inspired you to build your own corner of Ravenweald, you can find the Sarissa Precision terrain used to bring it to life here.
