Chateau Goumont, better known as Château d'Hougoumont, is the location of perhaps the single most significant action to happen during the Battle of Waterloo, 18th June 1815.
An attack by the 1st Brigade of the 6th Division on the North gate lead to a breakthrough by Sous-Lieutenant Legros, wielding an axe. In the ensuing desperate fight, Legros and soldiers of the 1st Legere were all trapped and killed in desperate hand-to-hand fighting, the lone survivor being a young drummer boy.
This huge Sarissa Precision Hougoumont set is an ideal centrepiece for your Napoleonic campaigns in games such as General De Brigade, Le Feu Sacré, Black Powder, Chosen Men, Silver Bayonet and Shako. In fact, the farm and outer buildings are representative of many similar farms of the region and will work perfectly for many 19th & 20th century World War Europe locations.
