Burrows & Badgers: Terrain for Northymbra

A smithy, a windmill and a village worth fighting over: our Burrows & Badgers terrain gives Oathsworn’s animal warbands a home in Northymbra. The range is a collaboration with Michael and Jo Lovejoy of Oathsworn Miniatures.

The game and its setting

Burrows & Badgers is a tabletop skirmish game set in Northymbra, where mice, badgers, moles, toads and other creatures fight, explore and cast spells. You collect and paint a small warband of Oathsworn miniatures, then lead it through different scenarios and campaigns.

Oathsworn is based in the North East of England and was started in 2013 by professional sculptors Michael and Jo Lovejoy. Osprey Games publishes the second-edition rulebook, released in 2025, with the rules and background for the game.

Terrain for Northymbra

The buildings become part of the setting: places for a warband to pass through, fight over or return to between games. We work with Oathsworn to give the kits the character of the world they belong to.

Lorgam’s Smithy

Lorgam’s Smithy went from idea to kit in five days. Steve brought the idea and Michael came back with a full backstory for the building.

Barten Longtail Windmill

The Barten Longtail Windmill was another favourite in our original feature. Michael Lovejoy’s painted version is shown below, with views of both sides.
