Mediterranean Farmstead and windmill with the Don Quixote and Sancho Panza anniversary figures

FROM THE ARCHIVE · 2021

Don Quixote, Sancho Panza and a windmill were our way of marking ten years of collaboration between March Attack and Sarissa. Gary explained how the relationship began, and why those two characters fitted the occasion.

Ten years, in Gary’s words

WOW that was a year… 1 of 10 that I won’t be forgetting.

It’s about 10yrs or so ago I (Gary, aka 'March Attack') contacted Sarissa, Steve, to see about having some laser cut buildings done for me.

And that’s how it all began to snowball.

We, March Attack and Sarissa, would like to mark this with something more than a thank you.  Something that reflects the past 10yrs and our collaboration.

A little left field

It’s a little left field, Don Quixote and his ‘helper’ Sancho Panza.  For us, it refers to some early conversations, however, this Special Edition set ties many things together.  March Attack started out figure painting, morphing into the design of laser cut terrain… Which then started collaborating with figure manufacturers… who use a sculptor that I particularly like…

The people behind the figures

This project has been a fast turn around and many special thanks go to Andy Hobday, Paul Hicks, Footsore Miniatures, and a printer I know down south.

Oh and why Don Quixote?  Many years ago I’m sure that people would have said we were ‘mad’ and only tilting at windmills to have started this adventure. And which is which? this is a true collaboration there is no one more ‘mad’ than the other here.
