Introducing Sarissa CMYK: A Bold New Chapter in Tabletop Scenery
May Contain Colourful Language! Sarissa-CMYK.com
September 2024 marks an exciting milestone for Sarissa Precision as we unveil the first sets in our new Tollingchester range. Along with these new releases, you'll notice something different - a fresh branding under the name Sarissa CMYK. This new logo and brand might leave you wondering, "What's that all about?"
Origins and Vision
The creation of the Sarissa CMYK brand was driven by a need to distinguish between our traditional products and those that are full colour printed. Steve's 30+ years of experience in the print industry made the Sarissa CMYK name a natural choice. The vision behind Sarissa CMYK was clear from the outset: we wanted to do something new, not just repackage our existing offerings in full colour.
This new brand was created to avoid confusion and to make it clear that these products are an addition to our line-up, not a replacement.
We reimagined the entire process.
Development Process
The journey to bring Sarissa CMYK to life started back in 2019 and has been anything but rushed. Gary, who spearheaded the design work for Tollingchester, details the process in another article. In short, everything under the Sarissa CMYK brand was conceived from the ground up as a full colour product. We didn't just take our existing designs and print on them; we reimagined the entire process.
Over the years, we've released full colour tokens, templates, dice, and dice towers, but the new printed full colour buildings represent a significant evolution. Throughout this time, we've continually refined our processes, incorporating customer feedback along the way.
For example, many customers love how quickly our kits can be assembled and customised, and they weren't keen on the idea of pre-painted buildings. This feedback reinforced our decision to keep our traditional kits unchanged while introducing the Sarissa CMYK range as a complementary offering.
The Significance of CMYK
As the name suggests, CMYK refers to the four colours used in the printing process - Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black, also known as process colours. This isn't just a branding choice; it's integral to how these kits are designed and produced.
From the start, the graphics are integrated into the design, ensuring that the final product looks seamless.
In terms of technology, both laser and printing technologies continue to advance, and we are committed to continuous improvement. We revisit popular products and processes regularly to enhance efficiencies and ensure that we can offer excellent value, even in challenging economic times.
Product Range and Offerings
The Tollingchester range is just the beginning for Sarissa CMYK. This initial release will be followed by variations on core buildings, upgrades, and feature kits, allowing for extensive customisation thanks to the modular nature of the designs. Our goal is to offer a diverse array of products that can be used across various tabletop games and RPGs, fitting seamlessly into the broader market of scenery and accessories.
Brand Identity and Customer Perception
Sarissa CMYK is a new brand but is backed by the reputation and expertise of Sarissa Precision, a multi-award-winning industry leader in tabletop terrain. We want our customers to feel confident that the Sarissa CMYK range is well-designed, easy to assemble, and offers a level of familiarity for those who have built our kits before.
The response to our teaser at Salute in April 2024 was overwhelmingly positive, with many people expressing excitement and surprise - especially when they learned about the price points. We've had a lot of questions about availability, which has only heightened the anticipation for the full release.
Looking Forward
The Tollingchester range is just the first of our new full colour ranges that will be released alongside our traditional etched kits. We plan to continue expanding all product lines as time and resources allow. Innovation is at the heart of what we do, and we're excited about where Sarissa CMYK will take us in the future.
FAQ and Customer Engagement
Since announcing Sarissa CMYK, we've received several questions, such as whether the products are pre-painted – No they are not - they're printed and ready for assembly.
People also ask what glue to use - superglue or PVA works, but we prefer superglue for a fast bond.
Another common concern is cost, but we assure you that these products offer great value, especially for those who are time poor.
