Gary Faulkner shows how to give MDF buildings convincing stone walls and tiled roofs using printed paper textures. Rather than covering assembled buildings with filler and sand, he applies thin printed papers to the separate wall and roof panels, trims the openings, shades the edges and then assembles the kit.
Follow the original workshop photographs through preparing the terrain base, applying 80gsm paper with spray-mount adhesive, using needle files and marker pens to finish the edges, and grounding the completed Mediterranean buildings with weathering, grass and rocks.
The guide includes three full-size printable paper sheets: stone wall texture, terracotta roof tiles and wood/planking. Print these sheets single-sided at 100% (actual size). The printable patterns are marked for personal use only.
